A&P

Last week for homework we read a short story called A&P. I really like this short story for two main reasons. The first reason was that it was very descriptive. I loved the description of how the boys reacted to the girls walking into the store. They were appalled of them walking into the store with bathing suits. They thought that they were very pretty. This is shown when Sammy says, "Darling... Hold me tight." I thought that was very funny.
The second reason was the ending. Sammy quits because he disliked the way that the manager, Lengle,  treated the girls. Sammy is an unmarried nineteen year old that is probably looking for a girlfriend. He tried to take up for the girls hoping that they would fall in love with him because of his bravery. But actually when the girls are asked to leave they leave without saying a word to Sammy. So at the end of the story Sammy was jobless and without a girlfriend.
