There are two main ideas that I got fro reading this play. The first main idea is guilt. Guilt is portrayed throughout the book especially through Lady Macbeth. One example of that is her sleepwalking disorder. This is caused by her thoughts of when she was an accomplice in the killing of Duncan. She also continues to wash her hands because of the thought of Duncan's blood being on her hands.
The second main idea is the quest for power. This idea is portrayed through the character Macbeth. He shows us that in order for him to become king he will do anything. Even if it means killing someone or lying he will never stop trying to become the king.
Guilt is definitely a main theme that creates many deaths and problems to many main scenes. The sleepwalking disorder and also the ghost was interesting, but the blood that Lady Macbeth imagined was really key to realizing it was from guilt! Quest for power is also a really big that causing everything that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth become guilty for.
ReplyDeleteI agree guilt is really a main thing in this book, and it is defiantly shown through the Macbeth's. We see it a lot, and it was driven from the quest for power that they had.
